How clients opt in.
The complete consent process for the MotionShift Media appointment-reminder text program.
MotionShift Media (Atlanta, Georgia, sole proprietor Andrew Baldwin) sends appointment confirmations and reminders by text only to clients who have booked a consultation or content session and who have expressly agreed to receive them. There is no public web sign-up form and no marketing texts. Consent is collected in one of the three ways below, and every path ends with the same confirmation text. There is no text-to-join keyword.
Path 1 – Web booking form
On motionshift-legal.pages.dev/book the client enters their name, email, preferred time and, optionally, a mobile number. An unchecked checkbox next to the mobile field reads:
Text me appointment confirmations and reminders from MotionShift Media at this number. Message frequency varies, up to 4 messages per appointment. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms. Checking this box is optional and is not required to book.
The booking goes through whether or not the box is checked. If it is checked, the consent wording, the time and the requester's IP address are stored with the request as proof of consent.
Path 2 – Verbal consent (phone call or in person)
When a client books by phone or in person, the MotionShift Media team member reads this script and records the client's answer, the date and the number in the client's record in our booking system:
"Would you like appointment confirmations and reminders by text from MotionShift Media at this mobile number? You'd get a confirmation now, a reminder the day before and the day of, and a notice if anything is rescheduled. Message frequency varies, up to 4 messages per appointment. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. Our privacy policy is at motionshift-legal.pages.dev/privacy and our terms at motionshift-legal.pages.dev/terms. Is that okay?"
Only a clear "yes" is recorded as consent. If the client declines, the mobile number is used for nothing except the booking itself and no texts are sent.
Path 3 – Written consent (Instagram direct message or email)
When a client books over Instagram DM or email, the team member sends this message and waits for a written reply:
"MotionShift Media: can we send your appointment confirmation and reminders by text to [mobile number]? You'd get a confirmation now, a reminder the day before and the day of, and a notice if anything is rescheduled. Msg frequency varies, up to 4 per appointment. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, HELP for help. Privacy: https://motionshift-legal.pages.dev/privacy Terms: https://motionshift-legal.pages.dev/terms. Reply YES to agree."
Consent is recorded only when the client replies "yes" (or equivalent) in writing. The reply is kept in the DM or email thread, and the date is recorded in the client's booking record.
Example of the written exchange (names and numbers are placeholders):
Confirmation text (every path)
The first message sent to any client is the opt-in confirmation, so the client's own phone shows what they agreed to:
MotionShift Media: you are signed up for appointment confirmations and reminders. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
What clients receive afterwards
- A confirmation when the booking is made.
- A reminder the day before the appointment.
- A reminder on the day of the appointment.
- A notice if the appointment is rescheduled.
Typically 2–4 messages per appointment. No other message types are sent under this program.
Opt-out and help
Reply STOP to any message to be unsubscribed immediately (one final confirmation is sent). Reply HELP for help, or email business.drewbookings@gmail.com. A client who opts out is marked in the booking system and receives no further texts unless they ask to re-subscribe by replying START.
